Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
